North Tahoe has long been home base for a steady supply of top notch skiers and snowboarders who have gone around the world to compete at the highest levels, including in the Olympics. This year in addition to a cadre of great alpine skiers and snowboarders a pair of cross-country skiing kids who grew up in Tahoe City and Truckee are joining the Olympic parade.

Tahoe XC is like a family. A group of people who love being out there and skiing together almost every day. Quinn Lehmkuhl has been a part of that family since she was born. Her parents are excellent skiers who have been Strider Glider coaches for more than a decade, and she and her sister Kili started out as youngsters in Strider Gliders moving on to race very successfully at North Tahoe High School and further on to the Junior National level.

Current Tahoe XC Devo coach Julian Bordes grew up in Tahoe. He participated in Strider Gliders but wasn’t too excited about cross-country skiing until he joined the North Tahoe Middle School team and connected with the coach and team.
