Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I have to pay to use the trails?
A: No. During the winter we charge trail fees for grooming services. In the summer, there are no fees, and you can access the trail system from several points in the area.
Q: Are the trails marked?
A: Trails are clearly marked at main intersections. We will provide a clear map to help you find your way. The trail system is north of Tahoe City, south of Mt. Watson, providing stunning lake views and fun hiking and biking terrain for intermediate and beginner riders. The surrounding USFS lands are also easily accessed from this point. The Tahoe Rim Trail is only 5 miles away.
Q: Is Tahoe XC a good place to hike and bike?
A: Absolutely! Start with free parking, bathrooms, water, and shade available at the trailhead. If you need to rent a bike, grab an ice cream, purchase some sunscreen, or play some ping pong and have a smoothie after your run, we have you covered. The day lodge is open and all users are welcome to drop in for trail advice, or to gear up before heading out on the trail.
